Jake’s Wayback Burgers in Lehigh Acres is a place to stop by for a burger! This is a locally owned franchise burger restaurant that is a 50’s style burger shop with an updated twist. The atmosphere is definitely warm, friendly and welcoming. The staff is professional, courteous and eager to please. Ample seating in the dinning area with bar top seating along the windows. A place for a business lunch, dinner with the kids or a place to just relax and have some tasty food.   Place your order at the counter, give your name, take a seat and with little wait time your order is brought to you.

My dinning partner and I arrived around 6:30pm, while they were busy, we did not feel rushed, cramped or the hustle that you sometimes feel when an establishment is preparing a lot of orders. The menu is quite varied. Everything from your normal burger or cheese burger to signature burgers such as the Double Bacon Jake or the BBQ Crunch Burger. Not feeling a burger, they have items such as Grilled Chicken Caesar Sandwich, Very Vegie Sandwich and a Turkey Burger Club. Still not feeling anything like that, well they you can try a Classic Dog, Wayback Dog or a Chili Cheese Dog. Now everything is a la cart so you will have to add your side to your entre. Sides are just as plentiful as the main course! Rings, fries and sides are everything from traditional fries to onion rings to chili cheese fries to something unique as their Irish Nachos which consist of home-made chips, home style chili, cheddar jack cheese, jalapenos and onions pile high! Looking for something in the lighter side, try a Garden Salad or a Chicken Caesar Salad. Once you have finished ordering your food, the fun part starts as now you get to select your drink. You can go the traditional route and get a fountain drink, fresh brewed iced tea or a simple bottle of water. Want something a little more exciting, try one of their many flavored “hand dipped” milk shakes or malts! Yes “malts”, now how many places offer one of these delicious gems from the 50’s?!!! Many different flavors to select from, something for every taste! Their prices are not bad. The average burger price is $5.99, average side is $3.99, drink prices are (fountain drinks): for a regular $1.99 and Large $2.29 (milk shakes): Junior $3.29 and Regular $4.29 and malt can be added to any shake to make it “wayback style”.

After my dinning partner and I looked over the menu, I order the chili cheese dog with a side of chili cheese fries. My dinning partner ordered the double bacon Jake burger with an order of French fries. We both added a fountain drink. We were then asked if it was to go or for dinning in, to which we said dinning in the restaurant. They took our name, we paid for our meal, got our drink and found a seat. Now I do have to mention that each order is cooked to order, which makes the wait time almost amazing as there were several orders a head of us and we waited about 5 to 7 minutes, not bad at all for food made to order. The size of our orders was impressive to say the least. Our meals were served on standard pie tins. My hotdog was as long as a standard pie tin and my chili cheese fries filled the pie tin and were piled high. My dinning partner’s burger was quite large in size, not a thin little meat patty, but nice in size and the buns were definitely fresh, fresh, fresh! Their fries also filled the standard pie tin, giving them more than enough to eat! The flavor of our meals was something to write home about indeed! Their burger was juicy, full of flavor and sized just right! Their fries were not greasy and flavorful! My chili cheese dog was large to say the least, amply chili and cheese, not like some places where it is put on with a mini spoon, Jake’s Wayback Burger puts enough chili and cheese on the dog so you know it is a chili cheese dog! The same with the chili cheese fries! It is so nice to have enough chili and cheese on your fries so it is on your first bite as well as your last bite! And did I mention the freshness of their buns, oh yes I did, but it is worth repeating as they were some of the best buns we have ever had in a burger restaurant! We were both happy, satisfied and full when we left Jake’s Wayback Burger. We will be going back for sure as start to finish we found a place for just a quick to go burger to a place where we can take a break and enjoy the food, atmosphere and experience.

We did notice that you can place your order online and it will be ready and waiting for you upon your arrival! So you are in need of a quick but delicious good lunch or dinner be sure to visit Jake’s Wayback Buger at www.waybackburgers.com You will be glad you did!!
