Cristof's on McGregor is a gem of a restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. They have outdoor seating but if you are there during heavy traffic times it might get a bit noisy. They fact that it is located in an remodled old Florida home adds to its charm. Upon arriving we were just delighted with the ambiance and knew we were in for a special meal. For the most part we were not disappointed.
There is nothing better than lunch with ones gal pals and Cristof's is a perfect setting for a such a lunch. Upon arriving we were greeted warmly and told of the lunch specials. Two chose the Fish Taco's and 2 chose the Bacon and Cheese Quiche. The taco's came with a side of rice and the quiche came with a very small side of fresh green spring salad. The quiche portion was very ample as were the taco's. My compaions told me that the rice side dish was dry. The small spring salad had a balsamic dressing that was so flavorful you will want a bottle to take home, if only they offered that. The quiche itself was outstanding and perhaps the best around.
Our server seemed to be a bit hurried despite there not being much of a lunch crowd. She also disappeared for long periods of time. While we were is a seperate room from the rest of the restaurant, which may of been the cause of the disappearing server, overall the service could of been a bit better.
Cristof's is open for lunch and dinner. Lunch dishes average $9-$10 and dinner entrees are $15-$20. The selection choices are ample and creative. There is something for every taste and palette.
Overall if you have not tried Cristof's on McGregor it is worth the trip. We would definately go back again and try some of their other dishes. I hear the fried green tomatoes are outstanding!!!
